Gold Partners Rain Bird announce new appointments in Europe

Rain Bird is pleased to announce the appointment of both Jimmy Sandison and Joakim Ström as Golf Area Sales Managers.

Jimmy Sandison has joined the Rain Bird team as Manager for the United Kingdom, Ireland and Iceland markets, and Joakim Ström for the Scandinavian market (Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark).

M. Sandison joins the Rain Bird team with 26 years’ experience and an extensive knowledge of the market in both distribution and project management. His experience in Golf, Sports and Landscape irrigation market brings a diverse range of skills that include domestic and international sales, engineering and technical support. After a solid education in electronics engineering, he developed his irrigation experience during 10 years at Watermation, in both sales and technical support position. He then successfully expanded the sales of Aquarius Universal control systems at Logic Irrigation. He contributed in the business expansion of Underhill International, promoting sales of products in both Golf and Sports fields industry for 7 years. He also played an important role in developing the sales of Antelco UK in the micro irrigation sector. More recently, he was National Sales Manager at KAR UK, developing sales in the landscape, Golf and sports field industry.

M. Ström joins the Rain Bird team with more than 20 years of international experience in distribution channel management and project management. After business school education he worked in numerous lines of businesses such as agriculture, garden & hobby, industrial consumables, E-commerce and personal protective equipment. In his most recent position he was Sales Manager for Thetford BV where he established and developed sales of various products and services to the recreational vehicle market and the marine market in Scandinavia.

Rain Bird has the determination, and a clear strategy to grow its position in the UK, Ireland and Iceland golf markets, and in the Scandinavian markets, while actively collaborating with its distribution partners and supporting the final users. These appointments are a key element to activate this strategy.

Stuart Tate will continue his main mission of European Golf Specification Manager, being in close link with all European architects and irrigation consultants.
