Not far away from their office in the Ruhr Area Rainer has just brought a small practice area into operation.

The Golf Club Gelsenkirchen, Leythe was able to offer a piece of land around the old organisation building and decided to build some practice units for members and guests.

His idea was to create a multi-functional area where pitching, chipping and bunker experience can brought to perfection.

There are two areas:

  • A pitching green was built with artificial grass, delivered by European Golf BV, in combination with two different deep bunkers. Artificial grass was selected because of the position of the green in the shade of the building. You can exercise hits out of or over the bunker.
  • The other area is a chipping green in putting quality for multiple uses, surrounded by areas of different grass length to practice chip shots from approach, fairway, semi-rough and rough conditions.

The construction of the golf elements and the integration into the landscape was carried out by the EIGCA’s Bronze Industry Partner Pötter-Golf.
