Sol Golf is constructing the world’s first Henrik Stenson designed golf course in Sweden

SOL Golf is currently well underway on constructing the world’s first Henrik Stenson designed golf course at Österåker north of the Swedish capital Stockholm.

This project is a massive undertaking and includes two brand new 18-hole courses, one par 3 course as well as a state of the art practice facility. First phase which SOL started last summer includes an excess of 600 000cubic metres to be moved in construction of 18-holes as well as the par 3 course. The practice range is already completed and will open this spring.

Christian Lundin, Principal Golf Course Architect of Henrik Stenson Golf Design and Associate Member of the EIGCA commented that he is extremely happy to have SOL Golf as the contractor on this project. It is a quite substantial amount of work that is asked to be done in a short period of time and in my opinion there are very few contractors in Europe that could do this on time and on budget.

When completed this facility will be one of the best in northern Europe and its members can play golf on two courses giving them two completely different experiences. First to open the well-manicured parkland course framed by residential developments.
