EIGCA’s Annual Meeting rescheduled to April 2021

In a letter to EIGCA members and partners, EIGCA President, Christoph Städler, announced that the next Annual Meeting will be held in April 2021.

"2020 will be remembered as a very exceptional year with the Coronavirus pandemic bringing about massive restrictions on free movement." Christoph Städler is clear that: "the protection of health and, in the worst case scenario, the lives of all involved must ultimately always take precedence over economic and social concerns, however important they may be."

The EIGCA Council has regrettably made the decision to not hold an annual meeting in 2020 with plans to transfer arrangements to remain in Cardiff, Wales, in April 2021 (golf at Royal Porthcawl and Pyle and Kenfig, plus the President’s Dinner at Cardiff Castle).

Networking opportunities are perhaps the most valuable element of each EIGCA Annual Meeting and getting the EIGCA community together is hugely beneficial to both architects and industry partners. To compensate for not being able to provide this in-person networking, we have held regular virtual Clubhouses since April. These Zoom meetings have covered a range of topics and included many high-calibre speakers and guests. We will continue these on the first Wednesday of the month at 4pm UK time and look forward to facilitating the stimulating discussions they generate.

"In addition to our Clubhouse sessions, we are considering organising regional meetings with golf and presentations and will be in touch with the membership to gauge interest in their region," explains Christoph Städler.

We are required to still hold an Annual General Meeting in 2020 and will hold this on Wednesday 14th October at 10am BST. Those eligible to attend will be contacted with details of how to join the Zoom call.

Christoph Städler concludes: "Let's hope that our next annual meeting can take place from 26th to 29th April 2021 under safe and halfway normal circumstances, and that we all stay healthy until then."
