Finding Articles

The bulk of the Newsletter consists of references to articles in the journals received in the Library. Increasingly, many journals are only published online – e-zines – and I have been including these with URLs where you can find the full text.

The bulk of the Newsletter consists of references to articles in the journals received in the Library. Increasingly, many journals are only published online – e-zines – and I have been including these with URLs where you can find the full text.

But what about those journals that are still produced in hard copy? Full details of all journals are included in the Newsletter and some are available online. It is not always convenient for me to include the URL when I am preparing the Newsletter – there is sometimes a time lag before they are online – so how do you find them?

  • Golf Course Architecture – EIGCA members will receive this as part of the member ship deal, but if you can’t lay your hands on the hard copy, all their articles are now on their website. Simply search on a key word and you should find it.
  • Golf Management Europe – From their website you can download the full text of individual issues after agreeing to their copyright terms and conditions.
  • Golf Range News – From their website you can select ‘Issues’ and again download the full text of any issue.
  • Greenkeeper International – From their website, select ‘Magazine’. The main articles in the latest issue are listed with links to the full text and back issues are available, or you can download the complete issue by selecting ‘Downloads’.
  • USGA Green Section Record – The web link takes you to the latest issue where you can select the full text of any article and there is a link to take you to the back issues.

For the rest, I’m afraid, you will have to subscribe to the journal, or come to me.
