Giles Wardle’s article on “Affordable irrigation systems for golf: how to save money and avoid false economies” (available to download off the Irriplan website www.irriplan.netk) has been well-received in these currently economically constrained times. Some of the ideas in this document and other innovations have been implemented on irrigation systems installed in 2012 at Rye Golf Club, Royal West Norfolk Golf Club, Copt Heath Golf Club, North Hants Golf Club and Anderstein Golf Club in the Netherlands, where Giles has demonstrated that value-engineering does not mean reduction in cost at the expense of efficiency, performance or environmental sustainability. Irriplan’s independence and it’s innovative and bespoke approach to irrigation design means that value can be engineered into the system by the improvement of function at no additional cost or by the reduction in cost for no loss in function, performance or efficiency.
First German i-play Golf Pitch & Putt project established close to the Hanover Horse Race Track Langenhagen
‘Pitch & Putt – iPlayGolf’ is considered to be a new product for the German Golf market which combines both tradition and innovation. It responds strictly the growing demand for easy to reach and fast to play golf courses close to the city centres.
In close cooperation with Austrian Golf course veterans, the Hauser brothers, the owner IPPGG GmbH represented by Max Herget and Sven Göth decided to connect their new irrigation system to the system of the bordering Rennverein Langenhagen which was installed in spring 2012. Rolf Krüger Consult has supported the design and acted as the link between the installer, owner and architect. At the end an irrigation solution was created that fits everyone’s needs.
