EIGCA News

Last month saw the United Kingdom vote on whether to remain in the European Union. The vote was close but the Leave campaign won the day. The European Institute of Golf Course Architects (EIGCA) represents members and students in 26 countries inside and outside the EU. Our members work all over the world and we do not see this situation changing as a result of the EU Referendum in Britain.

Members' News

In recent news from our members, we see that they are designing new courses for Royal Norwich Golf Club and at Les Lacs de L'Eau D'Heure in Belgium, others are upgrading facilities at Welwyn Garden City and at Waxholms Golf Club in Sweden, while another has built a small practice area for Golf Club Gelsenkirchen Leythe.

Rain Bird, a Gold Industry Partner has renovated the irrigation system at Valderrama Golf Club, one of the best known golf clubs in Europe.

Silver Industry Partner, John Deere, has supplied Royal Troon with maintenance equipment to help them prepare for The Open.

We also have news from our Bronze Partners, Benedetti-Guelpa and ICL.

The R&A has recently published two significant reports – one on Pace of Play Guidance, and the other, together with the USGA, on driving distances in professional golf.
