Gut Wissmannshof
 

Members News

One of our members has been restoring the bunkers at Effingham, another has been expanding the greens at Woking and building a new course in Turkey. Two members have been working on projects in Germany: one at Gut Wissmannshof, the other at Golf Course Ahaus. Another member has been building a private 18 hole course using only five greens and tee complexes.

Our Gold Partner, Toro has launched a new website for golf course greenkeepers, general managers and directors of golf/PGA professionals.

Silver Partner Jacobsen has signed a deal to supply equipment to Ekerum Resort Öland; and Better Billy Bunker, also Silver Partners, has been installing bunkers at the RAC in Surrey and at Golf Club Zurichsee in Switzerland.

We also have news from our Bronze Partners Sol Golf and Profile Products.

The R&A has been busy – we have four reports from them: the 2017 Distance Study, research on growing Women’s, Girls’ and Family Golf, a New World Handicap System, and their Equipment Testing Centre Achieving Sustainability Certification.

Resource Centre News

We have received donations of books from BIGCA Past President Howard Swan and journalist Jezz Ellwood which have substantially augmented the Centenary Book Collection, which now stands at over 600 volumes. The USGA has revised its Recommendations for a Method of Putting Green Construction. You can download these and their Tips for Success here. You can also catch up with Some Articles you may have missed in the golfing press.

The EIGCA Library has over 1500 books and journals, most of which are available to borrow. The Librarian can help you with any research you may need using materials in the collection or by online searching.
